1. About this tool

ProvenInk ("the tool") is a free service operated by WAAI. It reads the records left in an image file and shows the degree of possible generative AI involvement as a score.

The tool does not prove that a work was drawn by hand, nor does it prove that no AI was used.

2. What the score and verdict mean

The score and verdict are reference information calculated mechanically from the records left in the file. They do not establish the authenticity of a work or how it was made.

How the score is interpreted and used is left to the user and to those who see the result. We do not respond to inquiries about individual scores.

3. Handling of images

Images are read only inside the user's browser. The image itself is never sent to our servers and is never stored.

4. What is recorded

When a check is made, we record the file hash, the records read from the file (such as software names), the score, the verdict, the versions of the data used, the time of issuance, and a signature.

An issued proof can be viewed on its proof page by anyone who knows the proof number. As a general rule, proofs are kept and not deleted. If this changes in the future, it will be stated on this page in advance.

5. Prohibited conduct

Checking someone else's work as your own in order to mislead others.

Altering a certificate or proof page and presenting it as issued by this tool.

Excessive automated access or other conduct that interferes with operation.

6. Disclaimer

The tool is provided as is. We do not guarantee the accuracy of scores, fitness for any particular purpose, or continued availability.

The operator is not liable for damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the tool.

Content may be changed, suspended, or discontinued without notice.

7. Updates to the scoring method

The data used to calculate scores is updated from time to time. The same image may score differently before and after an update.

Each issued proof records the versions used at the time of issuance.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location as the court of first instance.
